Frederick W. Fochtman, Ph.D., F-ABFT is a pharmacologist-Toxicologist and an analytical toxicological chemist. Dr. Fochtman’s experience includes serving as director of the Allegheny County Forensic Science Laboratory in Pittsburgh, PA, Director of the Master of Science in Forensic Science and Law Program in the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences at Duquesne University, and associate professor in Pharmacology-Toxicology at Duquesne University School of Pharmacy. Upon retiring from the University in 2018, Dr. Fochtman joined the team at MolecularDx and is currently serving as the Director of the Laboratory. His expertise includes knowledge and application of the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act and the many applicable amendments to the Act relating to the safety and efficacy of drugs. He has taught pharmacy and graduate students areas of pharmacology, forensic toxicology and quality assurance. Dr. Fochtman has experience with accreditation and regulatory requirements relative to forensic laboratory operation. His experience in analytical chemistry includes chromatographic methodologies including gas, liquid and super critical fluid chromatography interfaced with mass spectrometry (GC/MS, LC-MS/MS). Dr. Fochtman is a Fellow of the American Board of Forensic Toxicology and American Academy of Forensic Sciences. He is a member of various professional organizations such as the Society of Toxicology, International Association of Forensic Toxicology and Society of Forensic Toxicologists. He also served as a board member for the American Board of Forensic Toxicology from 2007 to 2019 and is a past member of the Drug Testing Advisory Board for Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Dr. Erin Divito graduated from Duquesne University Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry with a Ph.D. in bioanalytical chemistry. Erin then served in leadership roles in analytical chemistry and method development at a fortune 500 company for several years before joining our forensic family as the technical director of chemistry and toxicology. Erin brings her 15 years of LC-MS/MS experience to the field and ensures all our assays are cutting edge.
Pat Reed is our Client Services Manager. Pat graduated from St. Mary's College of Notre Dame, IN with a BS in Medical Technology. Pat spent her first decade working in University and Community Hospital settings including Tufts New England Medical Center, Hershey Medical Center and was the Laboratory Director at Union Hospital of Cecil County in Maryland. In that position, Pat was an adjunct professor at the University of Delaware in their School of Medical Technology. Pat also developed a number of community outreach programs focused on Sickle Cell Anemia, HIV and maternal health and worked with local agencies in Maryland and New York enabling low-income individuals to become certified as Laboratory Phlebotomists and join the workforce. Pat then returned to her home in Pennsylvania and began Healthcare IT consulting with Sunquest Information Systems and other HIT consulting organizations until her start at MolecularDx in 2014.
Jared E. McAtee, M.S. graduated from Duquesne University in 2018 with bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and a minor in biology. From there he continued his education at Duquesne University and completed the Master of Science in Forensic Science and Law program in 2019. After graduation, Jared joined MolecularDx as a Technical Specialist in Mass Spectrometry and Forensic Analysis where he performed operation and maintenance on LC-MS/MS, GC/MS, GC-FID, and ELISA systems. Jared began analyzing and reviewing data on toxicology and drug chemistry related cases in 2020 and has since worked on over 1500 cases. In May of 2022, Jared stepped into the Supervisor of Chemistry and Toxicology position to assist with the management of the laboratory and ensure all accreditation and regulatory standards were met
Jim Sestrich serves as our Sales Representative and Account Manager. He is a proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and Conemaugh Health Systems School of Medical Technology. While a bench technologist, Jim became interested in Healthcare information Technology and subsequently joined Sunquest Information Systems, Inc. in 1986. Jim, beginning as an Implementation Analyst, soon joined the Sales Department as a support specialist, then rose to Senior Account Manager. After many years with various companies, such as Eclipsys, Triple G (GE Health Systems), McKesson and others, Jim joined the staff of MolecularDx. Also, as a former small business owner, Jim understands the value of customer service. Thus, upon his arrival at MolecularDx, Jim quickly put into place a company theme of 'The Enhanced Client Experience'.
